On Monday, January 1, 2007 - I called FTD after looking online for prices of roses and asked them for a quote for 250000 roses 45 days out from Valentines Day.. the original idea was to send each troop in the gulf region a Rose and a Valentines Day card. The person at the other end of the phone was dead silent at the request. As I explained it was for the troops she said I should Set up a myspace page for it… so I did and I started www.myspace.com/aroseofthanks on 01/01/07. It was A Rose of Thanks only website until August of that year!

Also on January 1st i found the official rose color that would represent A Rose of Thanks:

Between the day I got robbed and the beginning of the year I kept thinking about how I was going to give back… the first thing I did was call into the David Stein Show on Sporting News Radio and ask for a contact for a friend of the show who was going through a difficult time and offered to help He was a loan officer from the DC area and was throwing papers to make ends meet and they weren’t meeting. So I sent him a $25 gas card and a check for $20 bucks not a lot but it could help him out…

Just wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten about this it is just hard to write about it. I go back to work the next day knowing, I need the money to pay the bills and when I get to work they have me training a new driver…a girl…oh the excitement and wait there’s more the 1st delivery is to the same compplex where I was robbed less than 24 hrs before., my heart was pounding and I was freaking sweating… So I am driving this girl Sam and the first quetions she asks me is it safe and if I had ever been robbed…..How do you answer that? by telling the truth.

I go back to the store and Emily comes out to the parking lot and gives me one of those I am sorry and I care Hugs. She is a doll. I go back to the back of the store and say i am not taking anymore runs tonight if that is ok. My brother comes in and he starts his shift I tell him you don’t want to work tonight… not telling him I had just been robbed and come off as being pissed off at him for coming to work… So Clay the Asst manager kind of tells him…. and O am like yeah it happened and tell him what the fuck happened again…. damn I get pissed off thinking about it today and that was almost 3 yrs ago. I went back to work the next day not even thinking about it saying I needed to pay bills and all…. the real fun starts on the next day… the day after!!

I call Emily back and she says the cops are downstairs lookng for me around my car….2005 Mustang…. I told her I was in the apt and to let them know I was coming down. the cops asked me the standard question are you ok, can you give us a description… I said I am fine he was a young black male between 18-25 with a grey hoodie and dreads probably about 5’6’ 150 it didnt matter if I out weighed him by 40 lbs he had a gun and I followed Domino’s training and my gut to agree and do everything he says…. He has a loaded gun. So the cops ask me if I want them to follow me back to the store which was about .25 miles away! I said sure… the cops that were on the scene are cops that regularily came into Domino’s late night and told us that other pizza guys got robbed and for us to be safe, now I am one of their stories. To date i do not think they have caught the individual…making a delivery at night sometimes I ask myself is this going to be the 3d time…

I knock on the door of the apt of the last delivery… wondering to myself ok how do I ask them to use their phone to call the store because I just got robbed…. yes I said store not the police..lol What the Hell was I thinking. One of the people opens the door and I say hey can I use your phone to call the store… I just got robbed pretty much just like that. and they said are you ok and come on in. They handed me the phone offered me something to eat, drink Liquor and something to smoke not a cigarette… I said well if I am calling the store then the police then maybe not.. So I call the store and talk to Emily the GM. She is the sweetest person.. but cross her or someone she knows and she’ll go balistic….

Ok my heart is pounding in my chest thinking that this guy is behind me the whole time with a gun pointed at me and as I am walking wobbly kneed, I keep looking back at him and he has the gun on me saying dont look back at me I’ll shoot you…. Ok after I lay on the ground for about 5 minutes I got up and knocke don the 1st 2 apts I came to… no answer I keep low and quiet. I check the area for any signs of the gunman who took the pizza and cash. No sign of him so I go back towards my car thinking about what he said if I come back and you are gone I will find you and shoot you…. so did I go back to my car Hell no I went to the safest place I knew the Apt I had just delivered a pizza to. 11012 J.

This guy then tells me to walk that way again and I am freaking out on the inside..this fucker has a loaded gun on me and I just about loose it by the time I get to the end of the building I am hyperventilating and I can feel my knees getting wobbly, he then tells me to cross this bridge which leads to bldg 12006. then instructs me into the little patch of dirt next to the bottom two apartments and tells me to put the pizza bag down on the ground… then instructs me to take everything out of my pocket and place it on top of the pizza bag. I am then told to lay face down spread eagle. My heart is racing and pissed at the same time but doing what he asks begging to myself for him not to shoot me. he takes the money and says if I move he’ll shoot me and if he comes back in five minutes and I am not there he will find me and shoot me. So he takes the money an the freaking pizza……

Lets See. In October of 2006 I was taking a delivery for Domino’s Pizza in Charlotte, NC at about 11:30pm - 12:00am I pulled into the complex and parked my car and got out. I saw a guy walking down the sidewalk, I said hi and he said hi back, I figured he was headed to his car no biggie so i went up to the 3d floor and made my delivery. I came back downstairs and he was walking back towards me… me being a dumb ass thought he had left something in his apt (it was possible) I said Hi again and he said hi back then something happened. I crossed in front of him to get to my car, then he said hey walk that way. I was like hey this is my car and he then pulled out the 9mm and fucking cocked it….I heard the round go into the chamber that is how slow everything slowed down or sped up…. to be continued
